Roma Rumor Mongering: The Silly Season Begins
Now that the season is over and the Enrique saga has been settled, Roma's collective gaze turns towards the hordes of new players who may or may not don the Roma kit this season.
Last summers hastily thrown together mercato could be summed up in three words: Young, Midfield, South American.
This summer hopefully focuses on, you know, a few guys who could stop the ball
Project Roma: An Ode to Luis Enrique
"My goal is not to come here and change Italian football, my goal is to make AS Roma the best football team AS Roma can be…We will do everything in our power to do that; we will try to increase the revenues coming to the team, which will give us the resources to hire the best players." DiBenedetto said.
This rather pithy quote from Thomas DiBenedetto serves as the guiding principle for the new direction of AS Roma, which is less of a "project" and more of an ambitious business plan, aimed at making Roma a consistent competitor at home and abroad.

Totti Tuesday: ‘George Clooney, spitting squadrons and tobacco’
Last week has been about one thing and one thing only: The project has failed. The pièce de résistance of the US and A has failed. LE failed (as a coach, not as a man) and so did Sabatini, Baldini, DiBenedetto and everyone else calling themselves the sugar daddies of Roma. The league table doesn’t lie. Battling with Bologna and Parma for a seventh spot is something not worthy of AS Roma, its tifosi and the city as a whole. It’s gonna be one long, nasty summer. Then again, since when did we Romanisti had a quiet transfer season or even Serie A season tout court?
Never a dull day at the office of Sabatini (with obligatory teenage posters, Argentinian flags and a cup with Lamela’s face printed on it spitting in the direction of Italian prodigies who never got a chance in Roma’s first team).

Luis Enrique Reportedly Announces His Resignation
Big breaking news being reported by all at the moment: Luis has told the group that he's standing down. A stand up man, but the wrong piece for the puzzle.
"I’m going. It is a great defeat that I was unable to convey my ideas," Enrique reportedly told the assembled group. "I'm leaving Roma because I could not give 100 per cent. I made some choices and mistakes, I'm sorry."
Update No. 1: No Update. Still no official word, but it appears to be a formality at this point, simply awaiting Luis to step before a microphone or a Twitter machine. Assuming they have those somewhere.
Completely useless video of his supposed internal resignation here.
Update No. 2: Bupkis. Though early rumors of Lu'Rique to be approached by Genoa, which would be utterly perfect for him and likely the type of place he should've begun his top flight career.
Update No. 3: Maarten Stekelnburg's v-neck is so huge, one has to wonder if it's representative of the immense smile on the news that he might have a serviceable defense in front of him. A tube top might represent the appointment of Zeman.
Update No. 4: Is this official? Official enough for me. Presser tomorrow before Cesena.
