Surely there are volumes to be penned on The Great Mercato of 2011 (no sarcasm, I'm pleased and intrigued), but let's prioritize...
The lack of Roma's squad depth has been bemoaned for quite some time, and they clearly finally have it - and to absurd extremes. And yet it's the one @#$%ing year in which they aren't playing in Europe, thus needing all that depth. Which won't pose any issues at all in the locker room. None. Nope. This should provide delicious subplots when Marco Borriello slaps an ice pick through the back of Luis Enrique's head after the third straight week as a healthy snub, while David Pizarro is slipping laxatives in LE's morning doppio by October.
This is so perfectly Roma. I love it.
