Roma in Talks with Torosidis

Roma may have found themselves a new fullback in the form of Olympiakos right back Vasilis Torosidis, who is currently in talks with Roma, following an agreement between the two clubs.

Roma are going Greek once again. What was heavily rumored over the summer might soon come to fruition, as Roma has come to terms with Olympiakos for the transfer of Vasilis Torosidis.*

Torosidis is a 6'1'' (1.86m) tall, 27-year old full back, capable of playing on either flank and even occasionally as a defensive midfielder. Torosidis has managed one goal and two assists in 12 Greek Super League appearances.

Though nothing is official and no particulars have been released yet, it appears as though Torosidis will be joining his countryman Panagiotis Tachtsidis in Rome once he agrees to a contract with the club, though Fulham have been hot on his trail as well.

If true, Torosidis would be the first purchase of the winter mercato, which closes in a week.

*He also appears on the always reliable internet as Vassilias and Vasilios.

UPDATE: Looks like its a done deal at the cost of €0.5m, with Torosidis signing a 5 year deal.
