Roma After Mario Gomez?

New, comments

Mondays mongering of Roman rumors includes the Giallorossi going for Gomez, being rejected by Radja and making a home for the Mancat.

Monday is here, the Confederation Cup is over, and the only thing standing in the way of next season is approximately seven more weeks of rumors. Today's batch includes a tantalizing connection to Mario Gomez, a possible rejection by Radja Nainggolan and a new deal for Bogdan Lobont.

On to it...

Gilardino likes Roma links |
Gila likes Roma? Sure, but does he like them like them or does he just like them?

Report: Roma have Nainggolan deal
This one broke yesterday, but what the hell, let's throw it up here and see what sticks. Roma reportedly have upped their offer for Nainggolan to €10m plus half of Valerio Verre and Federico Viviani.

Roma Rejected by Cagliari for Nainggolan
Or perhaps not...Walter might be trying to secure the Belgian's services in a cash only deal, reportedly as low as €8.5m

Julio Cesar Would Like to Stay in England
With QPR relegated, Julio apparently wants to fight for a spot with one of London's Premiership clubs. Quick, someone get the Roma chamber of commerce on the phone!

Roma Extend Lobont Deal
Then there is the Mancat, Bogdan Lobont, who has signed a new three year deal with Roma, which, one would assume, would see him play out the rest of his career in the Eternal City.

Gianluca Curci: "I hope to have the opportunity right here"
More keeper kerfuffle: Curci seems to think he has the requisite experience to finally take the Roma keeper gig.

That'd be nice.

Roma in Pole Position for Jung
Sebastian Jung is back again, with Roma reportedly in the "pole position", though they should face tough competition from some German sides, some large, well moneyed German sides.

AS Roma Turn Down € 12 million Borussia Dortmund Offer for Pjanic
12 mill for Pjanic!? Come on, Dortmund, step your game up!

Roma Target French Trio
I suppose its anyone's guess where Nainggolan would fit into Roma's plans, but Rudi Garcia apparently isn't leaving it to chance--lining up several, Ligue 1 based plan B's, including Rio Mavuba, Etienne Capoue and Gilbert Imbula, with prices ranging from €3 to €14m

And finally, the big one, literally and figuratively..

AS Roma to Bid for Mario Gomez?
He may not be Super Mario, but he's still pretty damn good. With a price tag between €15 and €20m, German striker Mario Gomez could be up for grabs, though Fiorentina is hot on his heels as well.

I dont know, he seems too good for Roma, by which I mean too expensive. But he's eclipsed 20 goals in three of the past five seasons and is only 27 years old--so you can sort of understand the price tag, no?
