AS Roma's gladiators for the Champions League

New, comments

The Chaaaaaaaaaaampiooooooooooooooooons! With silly season officially behind us, AS Roma submitted the list of players eligible for the UEFA Champions League 2015-2016. No real surprises among the names, these men will have to make sure Roma's European season lasts longer than December.

Without further ado, here is the list:

Portieri: De Sanctis, Szczesny;

Difensori: Castan, Digne, Maicon, Manolas, Rudiger, Torosidis;

Centrocampisti: De Rossi, Florenzi, Keita, Nainggolan, Pjanic, Ucan, Vainqueur;

Attaccanti: Dzeko, Iago Falque, Salah, Iturbe, Totti, Gervinho

So yeah, no surprises. No Cole (AWOL), no Strootman (ACL), no Lobont (OMG), no Gyomber (WTF), no Emerson (LOL) and no Ibarbo (LMAO). Defence definitely looks thin but we have Daniele and Florenzi in case of emergencies. And boy, emergencies will happen, let's hope not against Barcelona. All the other departments look fine to me and ready to earn money that prestigous second place behind Barca and thus more money qualification for the next round in February.

Feel free to share your comments about the list below: Any notable absentees (Adem, Alessio), big holes (Ibarbo, don't ask), suggestions from the Primavera (Anocic, Capradossi), why the hell is Yao still here (aviation fuel is expensive),... And of course your predictions about our possible CL top scorer, assist man, or walking red cards are also welcome!
