While we've spent most of the summer fretting about who was coming and who was going, not to mention what they'll be wearing once they're here, the new season is--believe it or not--less than a month away. Earlier today, the full fixture list for the 2016-2017 Serie A season was released.
As has been the case in recent years, Roma gets a bit of soft start to the season, opening at home versus the now Antonio Di Natale-less Zebras from Udinese. And while Fiorentina and Inter make early appearances on Roma's fixture list, the first 10 to 12 weeks look like they might play to Roma's favor, as they face two of the three newly promoted teams within the first five weeks, and don't face Napoli until week 8, while their clash with the Old Lady waits until week 17.
The other notable fixtures are, of course, the Derby della Capitale (week 15) and Roma's first taste of VIncenzo Montella's Milan side (week 16).
While some may argue that Roma are already playing for second place, the early weeks look imminently doable, so perhaps they can keep Juve within shouting distance, but it's just a shame that Roma waits until August to construct its squad, isn't it?
With less than a month to go, look for our season preview series to start relatively soon, kicking off with our now annual U23 prospect countdown.
