As we potentially head into the final week of Francesco Totti’s time at AS Roma, we’ll be taking a look back all week at his nothing short of legendary career. Of course Totti has been known for his outstanding vision, passing, and occasional knack for scoring world class goals. But it is what followed these goals that is a huge part of the legend. So without further ado, here we go: The Top 5 Totti Celebrations of All Time!

5) Roma 3 Parma 1 - 2001 Scudetto Day

Nothing too special here celebration wise, except for the fact that this was the first of three goals on THAT DAY when Roma clinched their third Scudetto. Of course it must then be in the top five!

4) Italy 2 Germany 0 - 2006 World Cup Semi Final

Sleeper pick here. Arguably the greatest match I’ve ever watched, and Francesco was as cool as a cucumber at the end of it. Beautiful passes in critical moments, and two celebrations that are just.....so Totti. First he proceeded to throw a water bottle into the stands after Grosso scored his legendary winner. Minutes later, he played Alberto Gilardino through on goal, who cut the ball back to an onrushing Alessandro Del Piero, who then buried a curler into the upper corner. Totti’s reaction? Nonchalantly walked over to ADP as if nothing had happened, grabbed him, and then the true party began.

3) Roma 1 Lazio 1 - The TV Camera

Almost ten years before the famous selfie celebration, Totti was doing his best with the technology he had at his disposal. After converting a penalty against Lazio, he ran over to a television camera to film the Curva Sud celebrating. A creative and funny celebration, and once again a demonstration of his deep love for the club and it’s fans.

2) Roma 5 Lazio 1 - Sei Unica !

Just the icing on top of one of the best derby cakes Roma has ever made. Montella had already scored four goals and the match was over. Leave it to Totti to steal the show with an incredible cucchaio and a t-shirt celebration. This time, the shirt was for Ilary rather than the Laziale, with a simple message saying "You’re the one". Fifteen years and three kids later and that is still the case.

1) Roma vs Lazio - The Selfie Goal

Well, I assume you saw this one coming. It had everything. Incredible goal where a 38 year old scored while mid-air parallel to the ground? Yes. Second goal of the game for Totti, to tie it up, against Lazio? Hell yeah. And a selfie to rub it all in?! We here at CdT are not liable for time lost at work due to watching this video multiple times in an hour.
