In the past Roma players Francesco Totti and Alisson have written for The Players Tribune. Now, Edin Dzeko can be added to that list. This week Dzeko wrote a piece for the site, which features original work from athletes around the world. In the piece Dzeko relives on the field moments with both Manchester City and Roma. In addition, he also opens up about his childhood memories growing up in war torn Sarajevo and the influence his father had on his footballing success. It’s a worthwhile read for all Romanisti, and can be found at the tweet below.
"After the war, we were a generation of kids with simple dreams. We just wanted to play football in peace."
