Roma will finally be back in action this Saturday, after what felt like a forever long international break. However, not all of the squad’s key players will be available for game action against SPAL. As outlined here, Roma are going through a sort of mini injury bug and will likely be without some of their big names. Because of this, the depth assembled by Monchi will be utilized against the provincial side at the Olimpico.
As is to be expected, Robin Olsen will man the goal after featuring for Sweden over the break. Alessandro Florenzi who started twice for Italy should start at right back. Meanwhile, Luca Pellegrini Should start on the left, as Aleksander Kolarov should be given a few more days to recuperate from his broken toe. Howeveer, keep an eye on Davide Santon as he could start in one of the wide positions. Kostas Manolas returns from duty with Greece to man the middle alongside Federico Fazio.
In the midfield, Daniele De Rossi will miss out due to the micro-fracture in his foot suffered against Empoli. Taking his place, alongside Steven N’Zonzi, will be Bryan Cristante. Edin Dzeko will lead the front line after continuing his goal scoring form for his native Bosnia. His supporting trio will likely consist of Stephan El Shaarawy, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Cengiz Ünder.
