Roma will be playing their fifth match in just two weeks when they travel to Empoli on Saturday. The Tuscan side have had a difficult time thus far in their return to Serie A. Roma will look to add on their misery, wile continuing its own torrid goal scoring. Check out our full match preview here.
In terms, of projected formations, Roma will again line up in the 4-2-3-1. However, there will be some turnover from the midweek Champions League match. As per the norm, Robin Olsen will remain between the sticks, while Alessandro Florenzi and Federico Fazio retain their places along the back four. Kostas Manolas will return to the center of defense replacing Juan Jesus. However, the big news in the back is that Luca Pellegrini is projected to get his first senior team start at left back, spelling Aleksandar Kolarov.
The midfield duo of Steven N’Zonzi and Bryan Cristante will remain intact with Daniele De Rossi still not at 100%. It’s likely Roma will try and give him an extended rest with the international break next week. The super in form Lorenzo Pellegrini will again start in the trequartista role and is likely to be flanked by Cengiz Ünder and Stephan El Shaarawy who replaces Justin Kluivert. Rounding out the starting XI will be Tuesday’s hat trick hero, Edin Dzeko.
