Right-back may turn into an even bigger issue ahead of Roma’s big Champions League match in Ukraine.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get much worse for Roma at the right-back position; they just may have. Corriere dello Sport reported this morning that Alessandro Florenzi is now at risk for tomorrow’s big Champions League Round of 16 match in Kharkiv against Shakhtar Donetsk. It’s been reported that Florenzi is experiencing intestinal issues. Ale was forced to skip the team’s press conference and was replaced by De Rossi who faced the media next to EdF.

As we know, Roma are extremely thin at both the left and right back positions. If Florenzi is unable to give it a go anywhere other than the bagno tomorrow then we may be forced to watch Bruno Peres filling in. Yes, that’s the same Bruno Peres that Monchi tried to jettison back in January. He’s the only realistic option with Rick Karsdorp forever injured. Peres hasn’t played since his car wreck earlier this month. When he has played his performances have often reminded us of the bathroom fixture that Florenzi may be using a lot today. EdF and Co. will be praying that Florenzi can overcome his issues and be ready to go in just over 24 hours.
