The latest international break is mercifully drawing to a close, and thankfully for Roma no one was hurt, injured, or otherwise harmed. In fact, Cengiz Ünder made a miraculous recovery from his knee sprain, scoring a goal for Turkey against Montenegro earlier today. Considering he was in doubt for this match, the mere fact that he played was an accomplishment, but as you’ll see, he played with no restrictions and appears to be his usual, game changing self.
While an Ünder strike is nothing new to Roma fans, this one was worth another look.

We’ve seen some beauties from Ünder during his debut season with Roma no doubt, but I’m not sure he’s picked one out of the air quite like this. From start to finish, this was an exhibition of technique and intuition—Ünder’s run was spectacularly well-timed, bursting into space virtually unseened by the defense, while he finished it off by opening up his hips just enough to pick the ball out of the air and tuck it past the keeper. This kid is going to be a star, there’s no doubt in my mind. So, yeah, don’t get used to seeing him in a Roma shirt, not when Barcelona is already showing an interest in him.
Outside of Ünder, several other Roma players were in action today, including Radja Nainggolan, Aleksandar Kolarov, Edin Dzeko, Alisson, Lorenzo Pellegrini and even Lukasz Skorupski, while Alessandro Florenzi, Diego Perotti, Federico Fazio and Kostas Manolas received some well-deserved rest.
Expect all the boys to return within the next 24 to 36 hours as Roma travels to Bologna on Saturday.
