As reported by CdT last week, Roma will be returning Stateside to play in this summer’s International Champions Cup. This summer the Giallorossi will be logging some miles as they will feature in matches across the country. Let’s take a look at Roma’s three game schedule for their 2018 American Tour.

Roma will start their three game schedule on July 25 in San Diego, CA. The match-up is a rematch from last year’s ICC against Tottenham Hotspur. The Giallorossi bested the English side last year at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ, in a game that featured plenty of late action. Roma won 3-2 on a 92’ goal from youngster Marco Tumminello. The residents of San Diego will be hoping for just as exciting of a game this summer.
Match 2

In game 2, Roma will travel to Arlington, TX on July 31 to face-off against Barcelona. This one needs no introduction. After Roma’s recent historic comeback from down 4-1 in the Champions League against the Catalan giants, this game will be highly anticipated. Barcelona should be extra hungry to pay Roma back (albeit in a less meaningful way), while Roma could use this as an early measuring stick to see what they’ve got entering the season. This preseason match-up will be worth tuning in to.
Match 3

Roma’s last ICC match will be played on August 7 in East Rutherford, NJ against another Spanish side; Real Madrid. This game is already enticing as Roma will face Ronaldo and Co. but just imagine how much more enticing it will be if both teams advance to the Champions League Final. A rematch could be in the works. This could become the most anticipated game of the ICC if that scenario plays out.
It should be a fun summer for Roma fans in the United States, as the team faces-off against some of Europe’s top teams, right in our backyard. The International Champions Cup seems to get bigger year after year and Roma will seek to follow up this season’s UCL run with a strong showing.
