Following Roma’s abysmal performance on Friday at the San Siro, the international break comes at just the right time in the Italian Capital. As Di Francesco tries to figure out what’s gone wrong to open the season, Roberto Mancini will look to launch a renaissance of the Italian National Team. Italy have two Nations League fixtures coming up; the first competitive fixtures in Mancini’s Azzurri tenure. Italy host Poland in Bologna on Friday before traveling to Lisbon to square off with Portugal on Monday.
When the Azzurri begin training this week Mancini will have 31 players at his disposal; including three Giallorossi. As expected, Bryan Cristante and Lorenzo Pellegrini return to the new look Azzurri. However, there was a surprise inclusion from the Roma roster, youngster Nicolò Zaniolo. The call is the first to the senior squad for the 19 year old. Zaniolo, Cristante, and Pellegrini join a young group who will look to impress Mancini, as Italy looks to re-establish itself among the European powers at Euro 2020.
The full list of players can be seen below.
