While the final score of this edition of the Derby della Capitale may have been anti-climatic, the match itself certainly was not. While there were no late heroics or highlight reel plays from Roma, there were some players who did their best help Roma secure a “road” point. Let’s take a look this week’s nominees for Man of the Match.
The Candidates
Nicolò Zaniolo

Zaniolo was unlucky not to score in this one. In a match that saw the woodwork rattled a half-dozen times, the Italian hit it twice. Before coming off after 78 minutes, Zaniolo was heavily involved in the Giallorossi attack: he had three total shots and six successful dribbles while completing nearly 95% of his passes. The early signs have been promising from Roma’s next great hope.
Aleksandar Kolarov

Kolarov had another strong attacking match for Roma; scoring the Lupi’s lone goal from the spot. Kolarov had two shots on target to go with an 87% passing rate. The veteran also led his side with 72 total touches. On defense, he had two blocks and four clearances. However, he did lose possession on the play that lead to Lazio’s lone goal.
Pau Lopez

Lopez had plenty of help this week from the goal frame, as Lazio hit an astounding four posts. However, he also made six saves, including one from point blank on Correa. Additionally, the Spaniard completed 83% of his passes, including a six successful long balls.
