The third matchday of the 2020-2021 Europa League is upon us, and while Roma will very likely trot out a lineup filled with second choice players, the stakes are actually kind of high this afternoon. With Roma and Cluj even on points on the top of Group A, a victory today would give either club an enormous advantage when the return fixtures begin later this month, particularly since these two clubs will meet in Romania on November 26th.
A three point lead heading into the return fixtures would give Roma a pretty easy path towards the knockout rounds, but first things first: they have to win this one.
