Match day 10 didn’t quite play out quite as we expected when Roma faced Sassuolo on a water-logged Olimpico pitch. Many thought it would be a high-flying affair—much like last season when the sides played to matching 4-2 score-lines. However, controversial refereeing decisions, VAR annulled goals, and some surprising red cards meant that there was still plenty to talk about in this surprisingly scoreless draw in the capital. In this episode Sean and I discuss all that and much more in episode 16 of Across the Romaverse.
Other highlights include:
- Roma in possession vs Roma on the counter-attack
- The importance of Pellegrini
- Rick Karsdorp: The Maverick
- Does Roma sit too deep?
- Can anyone replace Zaniolo’s freight train style dribbling?
- Did Roma fail another Top 6?
