Roma will head to Lombardy without a few of it’s big of its big guns as the Giallorossi prepare to square off against relegation battling Brescia. Thanks to yellow cards picked up during Roma’s 2-1 victory over Parma, both Bryan Cristante and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be suspended for the trip north. Meanwhile, Chris Smalling and Davide Santon will also miss out on this one due to injury.

Pau Lopez will continue to man the Giallorossi net, as he’s looked sharp since his return from injury. In front of him, Fonseca will continue with the three man defense. With Smalling injured and Cristante suspended, expect Federico Fazio to start in the center of the trio. Flanking him on either side will be Gianluca Mancini and Roger Ibañez.
Currently, Aleksandar Kolarov and Leonardo Spinazzola are being tipped to start in the wing back positions. Spinazzola is coming off two of his best matches in Giallorossi colors, but with the quick turnaround Davide Zappacosta could get the call in his place.
Meanwhile, Wednesday’s match-winner Jordan Veretout will again start in central midfield alongside Amadou Diawara. In front of them in the 3-4-2-1 set-up will be Lorenzo Pellegrini and likely Carles Perez. That duo will be expected to provide the creativity behind the striker.
One thing to keep an eye on is Edin Dzeko’s status for this one. Fonseca mentioned that Dzeko was fatigued at Thursday’s training. If the Bosnian isn’t ready to start then expect Nikola Kalinic to get the nod.
