Roma Release 2020-2021 Away Kit

Collars are back, baby!

AS Roma

After being spotted in the wild last week, it was only a matter of time before Roma officially unveiled their new 2020-2021 away kits. And moments ago, the club did just that: releasing their new ivory colored and red collared away shirt. This announcement follows last week's drop of the stunning retro-inspired home shirt that was met with universal applause from the Romaverse.

Check it:

As you can see, the shirt is now available on the official club site; Roma also confirmed—and this is a new twist—that they will wear the shirt tonight against Torino; in years past, Roma have typically only unveiled their new home shirts in advance.

On the new shirt, the club points to an 80s inspiration:

The new second shirt is predominantly ivory in colour, a shade that is reminiscent of the countless iconic monuments that give the Italian capital its distinctive appearance and unmatched beauty.

A classic polo collar, in dark red with yellow and red border details, is completed by a two-button closure. The arrangement of the colours on the collar brings to mind the club’s away shirts of the 1980s – a golden era for the club.

The iconic Lupetto badge, designed by the late Piero Gratton, is featured on the chest. The timeless design is presented this time in black, without the usual yellow and red circular frame around it: bringing to mind the club’s kits of the late 1970s, while adding a modern spin of its own.

Complementing the new shirt, the away shorts are also dark red. On the right thigh, the Lupetto is presented in white – another call-back to the 1980s.

Socks in ivory complete the outfit; the socks also coming with a yellow and red detailing at the top that reflects the shirt’s distinctive collar

We're at the end of July and Roma have dropped two new shirts so far, might we see the third look soon?

In the meantime tell us what you think about this new away shirt.
