Lost amid all the Europa League talk and the impending Dan Friedkin takeover is the fact that the 2020-2021 Serie A Femminile season begins in 16 days. That's right, in little more than a fortnight the Giallorosse will begin their third season in the top flight. And unlike their previous two seasons in existence, Roma will begin the new campaign as a legitimate title contender. Thanks to their blend of youth, experience and Betty Bavagnoli's award winning coaching style, Roma should be right on Juve's heels this season.
While the club didn't make quite as much noise on the transfer market as they did last summer, they made a handful of under the radar signings to shore up a side that set new records in goals scored and points earned despite the fact that the season was cut six rounds short.
Speaking of rounds, the league just officially released the 2020-2021 fixture list. And just as they did two years ago in their inaugural season, Roma will open against Sassuolo.

At first blush, this is far friendlier than last season's schedule, which saw Roma face off with AC Milan and Fiorentina in successive weeks. While you never want to overlook any opponent, Roma's first real test will come in Round 5 against Inter Milan, while the back-half of the fixture list should provide quite a challenge as Roma faces Fiorentina, Milan and Juve in quick succession.
Stay tuned for our season previews starting next week!
