Following a crushing defeat in the Conference League, I would guess that most Romanisti would say that a confident and undefeated Napoli is the last team you would want coming into town following that shocking result. The league leaders had won all eight of their previous matches in the league going into the matchup, so you’d be forgiven for being worried about experiencing another tough result.
However, to their credit, the Giallorossi refused to allow the ghosts of Thursday’s result to linger over them, once again playing well, and even dominating play for stretches, against a direct rival for the coveted UCL spots.
Although the game finished scoreless, it was not without its moments, with both Tammy Abraham and Gianluca Mancini having arguably Roma’s best opportunities to score in the match, and Jose Mourinho being sent off in the waning stages of the match.
