We all know what happens when Roma struggles. The pitchforks and torches come out as the angry mob comes looking for the manager’s head. Sometimes that is warranted and other times it isn’t.

In this episode of ATR, Sean and I try to figure out just what is to blame for the Giallorossi’s struggles against the big boys. Are all of the poor results firmly on Fonseca’s tactics? Is it a mental problem? Depending on who you ask, you get different answers—even within the Roma locker room.

In this episode, we take a bit of a different approach to the pod, as we do less breaking down of the match and take a deeper look at the broader issue of losing to top sides. Sean scoured the media for different takes on the situation in Rome. We weighed in on those takes to try and come up with an answer of our own.

We also discussed the following:

  • Roma’s approach to the match
  • Mertens’ goal record against Roma
  • Ibanez’s struggles in big matches
  • Plus, we answer a host of listener questions
