At the beginning of the season, many fans probably thought Roma's Round 36 matchup against Inter Milan would be a pitched battle for one of Italy's final Champions League places. With Juventus dominating the league for the past decade, AC Milan surging during the 2020 restart, Atalanta doing Gasperini things, and Napoli being Napoli, it was logical that Roma and Inter would be two of the five or six teams tussling for a place in the top four.
Of course, the season unfolded just a bit differently. Inter ran away with the title while Atalanta, Napoli, and Milan each surged ahead of Juventus on the table while Roma has slipped all the way to seventh.
It was certainly unexpected but that's why they play the games, right? And Roma has three more Serie A matches to contest this year—including today's trip to the San Siro.
The lineups are in, let's get a move on!
