You don't have to be a Serie A insider to know that Roma's perfect start under José Mourinho is perhaps the biggest story in the league. After breezing past Trabzonspor in the Europa Conference League qualifiers, Roma carried that form into league play, defeating Fiorentina, Salernitana, and Sassuolo in succession. Not every victory has been easy, but Mourinho seems to have reinvigorated Roma after a down year under Paulo Fonseca, leading many to already dream of more than just a spot in the top four.
We're miles away from having a serious discussion about escalating expectations, but a win today over Hellas Verona could keep Roma on top of the Serie A table—depending on the final score—so that fantasy could become a reality if the Giallorossi can maintain this pace (or close to it) for the foreseeable future.
The lineups are in, so let's see if Roma's winning ways will march on for another weekend.
