Today’s Serie A matchup for the Giallorossi promises to be an important one, as results elsewhere along the peninsula have positioned Roma to get even closer to third with a win against Fiorentina. With a week of rest between matches (a rarity for Roma this season), José Mourinho has been given the opportunity to play his strongest starting eleven possible today, excluding the ever-absent Chris Smalling.
That should translate to an intriguing matchup between Mourinho’s men and Vincenzo Italiano’s Viola side. Also of note is the return of Lorenzo Pellegrini to the starting eleven after a long injury layoff, combined with Nicola Zalewski on the left wing in the place of out-of-form Leonardo Spinazzola. They will be facing off against a Fiorentina side including Giacomo Bonaventura, M’Bala Nzola, and Riccardo Sottil — not the most challenging side the Giallorossi will face but still an important test for a side looking to solidify itself in the top four.
