If it’s spring, that means one thing—it’s kit leak season. Year after year, football club’s shirts for the coming season are “leaked” online for the teeming masses to drool and/or complain over. And once again, I feel compelled to say that these are “leaked” in the same manner that a dog is a cat; it’s not. There’s no way you can convince me that the clubs and kit manufacturers aren’t complicit in these “leaks”. I mean, the very fact that you’re reading this is testament to the power of these “leaks”; they get people (read: consumers) excited.

The 2017-2018 vintage will be the fourth such venture between AS Roma and Nike, the first of which produced an absolute classic home shirt, the second produced a flawless away kit, while the third, well, they were shit. While it was nice to see the old wolf logo on the aways, these kits just never grew on me—just too blase, though the creamsicle third shirts were at least unique.

So, without further delay, here they are, Roma’s presumptive home kits for next season.

And a look at the full shirt:

Now, I know what you’re thinking...It’s the same fucking thing, a plain shirt. Well, yeah, but what if I told you the red was different! Is that something you’d pay $150 for!?

According to this source, Roma will complete the look with matching red shorts and black socks, a return to their standard look (the socks bit) for most of the 2000s. As always, we’ll reserve full judgement until we see these in the flesh, and all kidding aside, at least they’re changing the shade of red; something about the muted/maroonish tone of the 2016-2017s looked off, at least compared to the stunning 2015 version.

So what do we think?
