We’ll take a break from the maelstrom of transfer rumors for a minute—which, in case you’re not aware, aren’t good as the potential moves of Kostas Manolas and Lorenzo Pellegrini are now delayed—to focus on a less divisive issue, new clothes! I get so caught up in all the kit leaks and official releases that I sometimes forget how absurd this process really is, can you imagine if American teams pulled this shit, changing uniforms every year in a blatant attempt to swindle their fans for money? People would riot.
Yet here we are, and much like the folks at EA Sports have to make minor tweaks to their FIFA franchise every year to lure you in, the world’s football clubs make minor paradigm shifts every summer—some new piping, a slightly different shade of a certain color or a retro logo—to capture your hard earned dollar.
So, without further delay, we present to you Roma’s latest away kit:

No, your eyes don’t deceive you, those are stripes on top, subtle grey and white ones at that, and lest you think the color balance on your device is off, yes one side has red piping while the other has yellow.
And as far as the font is concerned, the club provided this template rather than, you know, a picture of an actual player’s kit
Here's how the numbering and lettering on the new kit will look... #ASRoma pic.twitter.com/oFiwVC2UX8— AS Roma English (@ASRomaEN) June 28, 2017
I’m not a design geek, so I can’t really comment on the quality of these fonts, but get this, the socks have Nike Grip technology! Can you believe it!? Who needs universal health care when you’ve got nice socks!?
The kit goes on sale in July, so if you want it for opening day, then by all means go for it, but if you’re like me just wait until April when they’re about 40% cheaper on kitbag.
