After all the melodrama of the past ten days—the cold war between Roma manager Paulo Fonseca and star striker Edin Dzeko, the near swap with Inter for Alexis Sanchez, and the rest of Roma's transfer dealings—let's turn our eyes towards a decidedly lighter story: the dramatization of Francesco Totti's final season with AS Roma, which is being serialized as a SKY dramedy this March.
Totti has certainly kept busy during his post-playing days, serving first as a director/assistant to Monchi before leaving that role and to start a scouting agency, pen an autobiography, and narrate the documentary Mi Chiamo Francesco Totti, which was released in Europe in late 2020.
The next move in the Totti multimedia empire is the forthcoming SKY dramedy Speravo de Morì Prima, a six-part dramatic interpretation of Totti's final season with AS Roma. The series, which will be released on SKY in March, centers on Totti's tumultuous final season with his boyhood club, and while the original casting, including Pietro Castellitto in the titular role, has been known for several months now, SKY released the first on-set photos of the series.

Here's a clip of Totti talking with “Totti” (Pietro Castellitto) about some memorable moments from his illustrious career:
Speravo de Mori Prima will air on SKY in March. If and when it's made (legally) available to the English-speaking world, we'll be sure to review the miniseries, ditto for Totti's biography, on which this series is based, and the documentary Mi Chiamo Francsco Totti.
In the meantime, what do we think of these casting choices?
