Bruno Peres
Yesterday, Roma confirmed reports that Brazilian fullback Bruno Peres would be heading back to his homeland to join Sao Paulo. According to the club’s press release, the 28 year-old Peres joins Sao Paulo on an initial 18 month loan. The loan includes an option to buy which can be enacted at any time during the loan spell. The clause is believed to be for €6 million. This move brings to an end a very disappointing two year spell for the former Torino star in the Italian Capital.
Gregoire Defrel
Another player who could be on the way out of Trigoria soon, could be Frenchman Gregoire Defrel. Defrel arrived in the capital just last summer from Sassuolo on a €5 million loan with a €15 million obligation to buy. The forward had a difficult season in Rome and often looked in over his head. Now it appears he could be on his way to Sampdoria, as reports around the peninsula claim that the Blucherchati have made contact with Roma, as they look to reinforce their attack.
Gerson
Gerson’s name is another which has often been rumored to be on the way out this summer. Unlike Defrel and Peres, Roma haven’t given up on the 21 year-old, but would like to send him out on loan to get more consistent playing time and experience. The club being brought up most often to make this happen has been Empoli. However, reports today indicate that Atletico Minerio of Brazil have made an official offer for the midfielder. Roma still prefer to farm him out to another Italian club, likely Empoli, so we’ll see how things shake out in the coming days.
Mirko Antonucci
Roma Primavera product, Mirko Antonucci, is another player who is close to making an exit. The 19 year-old winger made his first team debut with the Giallorossi just this past January. Antonucci is a talented player who likely has a future with i Lupi, however it won’t be this season. With a full stable of forwards available, the youngster will be on his way out to gain experience. It’s being reported that his likely destination will be Pescara, after he left Roma’s practice session early today. Details of the move haven’t been reported on yet, but one would think this is a loan or a sale with repurchase clause. More details should follow once the move becomes official.
Alisson
According to reports, despite constant rumors of where he’ll be playing next season, Roma are still awaiting an official offer for Alisson. It seems the two most likely candidates that would like try to pry the superstar goalie away from the club are Chelsea and Liverpool. It is believed that Real Madrid, which was reportedly Alisson’s preferred choice have dropped out of the running and are turning to Thibault Courtois instead. If Roma do decide to sell, reports indicate that they will try and stir up a bidding war between the two English giants. As indicated earlier in the week by Monchi, Roma won’t wait until the last minute for offers and wouldn’t mind Alisson sticking around.
