Just a couple days ago, we here at CdT reported that bringing in Swedish keeper Robin Olsen had become Monchi’s priority at goalkeeper. Now, Football Italia is reporting that the move is looking like a done deal. Football Italia is quoting this report from Swedish source Aftonbladet.
The Swedish source is reporting that Olsen will move from FC Copenhagen of Denmark to Roma for a fee of €12 million. This report follows a report that Olsen’s agent was spotted in the Eternal City for talks. Tomorrow Olsen’s agent will return to Rome with Olsen in tow after the clubs have reached an agreement. Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that there are still some small details to work out between the clubs.
It looks like Monchi is looking to bring in a steady veteran keeper at a low price rather than spend big on a more flashy name like PSG’s Alphonse Areola or Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma, among others which were rumored. This means that a large sum of the profits from Alisson will be spent on a winger, most likely Bordeaux’s Malcom. We will be sure update both situations as details emerge.
